Spring is here with a crocheted bumblebee!

Well, I have been sick for the last two weeks and have not felt like being creative one bit which is why my posting has been non-existent. But now I am feeling better, and I’ve got a few projects lined up for the week.

When Chrissie was here last time she brought me several more crochet hooks, which means I can now do a lot more crocheting! I have been eyeing a crochet pattern for a very cute bumblebee for awhile but just needed a smaller hook. I sat down last Saturday and went to work.

First I crocheted the body and stuffed with polyester filling:

Then I made each leg, both wings, and both feelers separately and sewed them all on:

I think it turned out quite well! He still needs some eyes and a mouth but it’s a work in progress. I also think I am going to try to put something in the bottom to make him stand up better. He’s really easy to knock over right now, and I don’t think I like it. But all in all, I am satisfied.
